Building and Construction Info
We start by using Thermo-fused melamine, which is available in a wide range
of colors and textures (other options available upon request; plywood, MDF
A-D and green core sheet materials). All cabinet pieces are cut and bored
using a C&C machine to make uniformly accurate parts. The Euro cabinets are
then assembled using dowel and conformant screws.
A euro style cabinet became popular in Europe when revolutionary hardware
made this type of cabinet possible. The hinges mount on the sides of the
“box” rather than on the front of the face frame and the action of the hinge
is such that the doors can be very close or even against an adjacent door
and still open without binding. This type of cabinet is characterized by
door and drawer elements being close together separated by narrow shadow
lines or "reveals" of an eighth of an inch plus or minus.
Our 35 mm self-closing hinges are installed to the cabinet box then our
doors are attached to the cabinet. All of our doors and drawer fronts are
made out of ¾” solid wood and custom built for each project. Our doors are
built using a mortise and tenon stile and rail assembly, which improves the
strength and durability. In addition we insert panel spacers to accommodate
expansion and contraction from varying degrees of air moisture. Our custom
finishes set us apart. We use the latest technology in protective coatings
to create any look you can imagine. To achieve these looks we use custom
colors, textures, hand scrapping, sanding, distressing and many more
techniques.
The drawer fronts are not attached to the drawers until installation. We use
Dovetail Drawer Boxes made from European Beech, which is a sustainable
species. The drawers are custom built to fit each cabinet perfectly. To
accent the drawers, under mount soft-closing full extension slides are
installed.
Personal care continues through our in-house delivery, wrapping our cabinets
using shrink wrap, cardboard and blankets. We then deliver the cabinetry to
the installation site. Using high quality craftsmanship your cabinetry will
be installed to specifications to achieve your design and vision. We clean
and remove all waste from installation of cabinetry. We do a final wipe down
of cabinets while checking all hardware for proper function.
Re-Facing Building and Construction Information
Kitchen remodeling can be easy and affordable with cabinet re-facing. By
using the existing cabinets and “footprint” you can reduce the associated
costs for plumbing, electrical and floor repair. It is environmentally
friendly due to reusing your existing cabinets.
The process:
Remove all of the old door and drawer fronts, then apply a pre-finished
veneer or solid wood paneling to the cabinet face frames. To avoid unsightly
nail holes panels are applied with a glue and pin technique. This process
also serves as extra strength for the cabinet, increasing the stability and
life of the cabinet.
Next, ¾ inch solid wood custom doors and drawer fronts are installed using
high grade self-closing hinges. Our doors are built using a mortise and
tenon stile and rail assembly which improves strength and durability. In
addition we insert panel spacers to accommodate expansion and contraction
from varying degrees of air moisture. It also prevents the “rattling” noise
you may here in a lesser quality door.
We offer dovetail drawers to replace damaged or warn drawers with under
mount soft closing slides to accent the drawers. We carry several decorative
hardware options as you may choose to also update your hardware. See our Emtek link.
